LL Tabletten
Lineto · Laurent Benner, Céline Odermatt, Anatole Couteau, Weichi He · 1999

A fully functional typeface extrapolated from the three-letter construction logic of the PEZ candy logo, with AM and PM shadow variants and a layerable Fill cut.
About
Originally released in 1999 as LL PEZ before a cease-and-desist from PEZ International prompted the rename, the typeface began as Laurent Benner's attempt to build a complete alphabet from the rigid geometry of just three branded letters. A 2022 redraw by Céline Odermatt introduced AM and PM versions casting shadows left or right to mimic the sun's position, while a subsequent collaboration with Anatole Couteau expanded the character set and added a brutalist stylistic set. Weichi He contributed the Fill cut, a negative-form layer designed to be stacked with the main styles to introduce colour.
Classification
Built entirely from the rigid construction logic of three PEZ candy logo letters, the typeface is a modular, three-dimensional display face with no conventional typographic heritage, making display the only fitting category.
