Banya Mist
lo-ol Type · Noheul Lee

A stencil display typeface derived from Banya Std, drawing on traditional woodblock-printed Buddhist scripture while introducing deliberately faded or dissolved letterforms to evoke fog and obscured truth.
About
Where Banya takes its structural cues from the letterforms of historic woodblock Buddhist texts, Banya Mist introduces a stencil treatment in which elements partially dissolve, evoking the idea of wisdom obscured by mist rather than fully revealed. The family runs across six weights from Light to Black and covers both Latin and Hangeul scripts with an extensive Latin language list. Designed as a companion to Banya Std, the two are intended to be used in combination, each amplifying the other.
Classification
A stencil-style display typeface with deliberately dissolved or faded elements, rooted in the structural forms of traditional woodblock-printed Buddhist scripture. Its decorative and expressive character places it firmly in the display category.
