Designed by Loris Olivier and Lisa Huang, Oni departs from conventional transitional serifs by introducing intermittent sharp strokes that create contrast against its more classical curves. The italic cuts express this tension most clearly, drawing on the movement and varied stroke weights of historical models while pushing toward something more individual. With 550 glyphs and broad Latin language support engineered by Stephen Nixon, it is pitched at display applications where typographic character takes priority.
