About
Superheat began as a neo-grotesque and shifted during development towards a squarer, warmer form with wider proportions and character-level quirks drawn from the Latin set. The italic is a compromise between a true calligraphic italic and a slanted upright, reflecting practical decisions about how the family would actually be used. Nine weights from Thin to Black, each with an italic companion, are available as static fonts and as a variable font with weight and slant axes.
