Valpo specimen from Luzi Type

A grotesque sans drawn from Edding marker sketches that sits somewhere between rigid grid typography and calligraphic expression.

About

Derived from sketches made with an Edding 3300 marker, Valpo blends the structural consistency expected of a grotesque with the warmth of a calligraphic hand. The family spans seven weights from Thin to Black with matching italics, and extends into a Condensed subfamily, totalling 28 styles across both widths. Available as variable fonts with a weight axis, it suits both lead text and display use.

Classification

Valpo occupies a position between grotesque and calligraphic, with letterforms derived from Edding marker sketches that retain warmth and personality while adhering to the structural consistency of a grotesque sans.
