Khoa Serif specimen from Mai Type

A Venetian serif revival drawn from Veronese as it appeared in Vietnamese printed books between 1950 and 1975.

About

Still a work in progress at version 0.100, this typeface takes its cues from Veronese, a Venetian-style serif found in printed books published in Vietnam during the mid-twentieth century. The single Regular style already supports Latin and Vietnamese scripts, rooting it firmly in a specific regional and historical typographic tradition. Its scope is narrow for now, but the premise of a Vietnamese-inflected Venetian revival is a distinctive one.

Classification

Khoa Serif is explicitly described as a Venetian-style serif revival, drawn from Veronese, placing it firmly within the humanist oldstyle/Venetian tradition.
