Where most bitmap-revival typefaces reproduce the raw artefacts of dot-matrix or thermal printing, MD Thermochrome applies optical corrections and adjusted glyph shapes to achieve visual balance across its eight weights from Thin to Ultra. Each weight ships in five slope variants: Regular, Italic, Inclined, Reclined and Retalic, giving an unusually broad expressive range for a typeface with this kind of reference point. Released as a work in progress via Future Fonts, it includes extensive Latin Extended coverage alongside a large set of symbols, icons and currency glyphs.
Classification
Designed to evoke dot-matrix and thermal printer output, with optically corrected letterforms rather than strict pixel-grid constraints. The bitmap heritage and narrow, mechanical character place it firmly in display territory.
