Fabric Sans specimen from Monokrom

A straight-sided grotesque by Frode Helland and Sindre Bremnes that generates visual texture through the interplay of apertures and whitespace rather than stroke contrast.

About

Designed as a counterpart to Fabric Serif, this grotesque shares structural foundations with its serif sibling in curve tension, rhythm and metrics, while diverging in morphology and detailing. The result is a typeface that pairs naturally across typographic hierarchies without flattening the contrast between the two. Four weights from Regular to Black each carry matching italics, and the design ships in OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 with active support for over 200 languages.

Classification

Described as a straight-sided grotesque with low contrast and tight apertures; fits the grotesque subcategory through its classic letterform structure and restrained geometry.
