Released in 2012, the family spans 45 fonts across five weights and three widths, with the x-height shifting vertically as the width changes horizontally. Instead of conventional cursive italics, Gemma offers two sets of 'rotalic' styles for emphasis, and every font includes the Futurama Alienese script alongside Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. The OpenType implementation is notably deep, covering small caps, 16 figure styles, contextual alternates, German-aware ligature handling and 18 stylistic sets.
