About
Designed by Kimya Gandhi and first released in 2017, Maku mimics the irregularity of real handwriting by assigning multiple drawn versions to every glyph, which cycle to avoid repeated letter shapes appearing side by side. The Devanagari script is the centrepiece, supported by swash variants, initial and final word forms, and a set of dingbats for supplementary graphic use. Latin, Cyrillic and Greek are also included, and the family spans four weights plus a variable font totalling 3,347 glyphs.
