Bisect
Muirmcneil · Natasha Lucas

A unicase geometric mono system built on a grid of horizontal and vertical segments, designed in four layerable versions to express the fragmentation of language and memory.
About
Conceived by Natasha Lucas as part of a visual system for Harold Pinter's memory plays, Bisect uses a shared grid to govern letterforms, text setting and document formatting simultaneously. Its four versions are precision-cut to register with one another in layers, multiplying the typographic possibilities from a single constrained structure. The playful tension between horizontal and vertical segments gives the system a rigour that suits both theatrical and identity contexts.
Classification
Bisect is explicitly described as monospace and unicase, built on a strict grid system with horizontal and vertical character segments, placing it firmly in the geometric mono category.
