Designed by Natasha Lucas in collaboration with MuirMcNeil, Cathode is the fourth in a series of modular geometric systems exploring the relationship between positive and negative space in letterforms. The family comprises three versions cut to register with each other precisely, allowing the square inner character set and bevelled outer one to interlock into a reciprocal whole. The result is an alphabet that reads consistently while maintaining a deliberate visual ambiguity between form and counterform.
