A 14-style variable sans from Naipe Foundry, built for UI design with a Minas Gerais–inflected character.
About
Designed explicitly for user-interface work, Uai offers seven weights from Thin to Black in both static and variable formats, with a dedicated Darkmode subfamily optimised for light-on-dark rendering. OpenType features include alternate forms for a, g, i and l, tabular figures, slashed zero and case-sensitive punctuation, giving it the technical toolkit expected of a serious UI face. The family covers an extensive Latin character set spanning hundreds of languages, and carries a quiet regional identity rooted in the culture of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Classification
A clean, upright sans-serif with geometric tendencies and humanist details, purpose-built for UI environments. Alternate letterforms for a, g, i and l are characteristic of screen-focused geometric sans families.
