New Atlas Italic

A contemporary revival of an early 20th-century Stephenson Blake typeface, rebuilt from fragile specimen sources with small caps, a cursive italic and discretionary ligatures.
About
Newlyn reconstructed this family from fragile original specimens, preserving the delicate texture of a British metal type designed for refined small-print work. Five weights from Regular to Black each carry matching italics, and the family includes small caps and discretionary ligatures. The result sits between the ornamental register of late Victorian type and the cleaner confidence of Edwardian letterpress.
Classification
A revival of a Stephenson Blake metal type, rooted in early 20th-century British printing tradition with refined stroke contrast and a cursive italic, placing it firmly in the transitional serif category.
