New Farm
Newlyn · Miles Newlyn, Ben Mitchell

A monospaced typeface with handwritten roots, built around springy stems, rounded terminals and wide proportions for a relaxed, upbeat character.
About
Designed by Miles Newlyn and Ben Mitchell for a client brief calling for something upbeat and unpretentious, New Farm grafts lively, handwritten shapes onto a typewriter-monospaced structure. Raindrop-shaped counters, rounded terminals and wide proportions give it a casual warmth that stops well short of novelty, with bounce calibrated so that letters settle into a regular rhythm. The family spans five weights from Thin to Bold and includes Newlyn's Accessibility Set for organisations with compliance requirements.
Classification
New Farm is built around a typewriter-monospaced grid but with handwritten, bouncy letterforms, wide proportions and rounded terminals, making it a humanist mono rather than a strict mechanical one.
