About
Commissioned in 2010 for the visual identity of 'Afrique Contemporaine', the journal of the Agence Française de Développement, the typeface abstracts the vivid geometric symbols of Ndebele house-painting into stylised letterforms. All characters are uppercase with rounded angles, and each letter carries a fine vertical break that widens progressively across the three variants: Plain, Half and Quarter. The result sits at the boundary between representation and abstraction, making it a tight fit for editorial display and identity work with a strong graphic character.
