Released in 2023, Swinton traces its lineage to the low-stroke-contrast grotesques of the International Style while incorporating characterful details absent from its more austere predecessors. The family spans eleven weights from Extra Thin to Extra Black, each with a matching italic, giving it considerable range across editorial, branding and display contexts. Nouvelle Noire accompanied the release with a fictional narrative universe built using AI tools, framing the typeface within an invented cultural mythology.
