The design traces an unusual cross-cultural line: Giambattista Bodoni's 18th century Italian punchcutting, reinterpreted by Japanese graphic designer Ikko Tanaka in his Mincho-style Kocho, and now revisited by Highsmith with italics led by Marie Otsuka. Thirty styles span five weights from Extra Light to Black across standard, Condensed and Compressed widths, each with matching italics. Latin, Cyrillic and Greek script coverage is paired with small caps, oldstyle figures, tabular figures and localized forms.
