Missouri
Off Type · Valerio Monopoli

A wide, chunky display grotesque by Valerio Monopoli, named after his local cinema and built around broad cinemascope proportions with aperture-inspired ink traps.
About
Four weights run from 8mm to 70mm, each carrying the same 489-glyph set and available as a variable font. The design translates the wide-screen ratio of cinema into squat, bold letterforms punctuated with ink traps that echo film-reel sprockets. Best suited to posters, titles and branding where the letterforms can be set at size.
Classification
A chunky, wide-proportion bold grotesque designed explicitly for large-scale display use, with aperture-inspired ink traps and broad cinemascope proportions that place it firmly in the display category.
