Sector
Off Type · Valerio Monopoli

A grid-locked display typeface by Valerio Monopoli built on the logic of retro LCD segmented displays, spanning 12 styles across normal and narrow widths.
About
Every glyph in the family derives from a single fixed grid module, a constraint that channels the segmented logic of retro LCD screens into a typeface capable of 700 glyphs per style, including diacritics, small caps, alternates and fractions. The family splits into Sector and the sharper-terminated Sector Narrow, each running Light, Regular and Bold weights alongside three matching Rotalic styles that introduce slant without breaking the grid. Styles ship with Base, COLR colour and blueprint grid variants, making it equally serviceable as a bold headline stencil or an unexpectedly readable text face.
Classification
Built on a fixed grid inspired by retro LCD segmented displays, Sector is a geometric display face with a strict modular construction; its playful stencil-like forms and optional COLR/grid overlays place it firmly in the display category.
