OH no Type · Julien Priez, James Edmondson, Colin M. Ford, Jamie Otelsberg · 2025

A grotesque sans with a subtle humanist inflection, drawn over fifteen years as a collaboration between OH no Type and French calligrapher-designer Julien Priez, issued in seven weights with italics and an experimental modular Play style.
About
Conceived after James Edmondson persuaded Priez to approach a grotesque despite his calligraphic background, the family carries just enough personality in its lowercase a and t to distinguish it from generic grotesques without compromising legibility. Fifteen styles in total cover everything from logotype to extended text setting, with the single-style Play variant offering a modular kit of parts for experimental composition. The variable font covers the full weight range, and a generous OpenType feature set includes small caps, multiple figure sets and case-sensitive punctuation.
Classification
Described explicitly as a grotesque sans, drawn by a calligrapher with a subtle humanist flavour in the lowercase letterforms, particularly the a and t, which keeps it from being a pure geometric or neo-grotesque.
