Oswald
Open Foundry · Vernon Adams, Cyreal, Kalapi Gajjar

A screen-optimised reworking of the classic gothic condensed style, redrawing characters to sit cleanly on the pixel grid.
About
Drawn by Vernon Adams with contributions from Cyreal and Kalapi Gajjar, Oswald takes the condensed gothic tradition exemplified by Alternate Gothic and adapts it for on-screen use. Characters have been redrawn to align with the pixel grid, making it practical across desktops, laptops and mobile devices. Six weights from Extralight to Bold are available under the SIL Open Font Licence.
Classification
Oswald is explicitly described as a reworking of the classic gothic style, referencing Alternate Gothic as a direct antecedent. Its condensed, upright forms with redrawn characters place it firmly in the gothic condensed sans-serif tradition.
