About
Originally developed in 2010 as a follow-up to Modulicon, a pixel icon font, Terminal Grotesque evolved through Fontstruct and Fontforge with Futura and Radim Pesko's grotesque drawings as reference points. The pixel grid left a visible mark on its construction, giving it a mechanical, structured quality suited to large-scale title use. Released under the SIL Open Font Licence, it continues to develop through community contributions.
Classification
The foundry classifies it as display; its origins in a pixel icon font and influence from Futura and Radim Pesko's grotesque drawings place it firmly in geometric display territory, with pixel-grid shaping giving it a distinctive constructed quality.
