François Rappo's revival of Jean Jannon's seventeenth-century French type, with text and display cuts and Baroque swash details.

About

A Garalde revival by François Rappo that returns to the work of Jean Jannon, the Swiss-born printer whose Caractères de l'Université were long misattributed to Garamond. The drawing preserves the asymmetrical axis, the small inclined bowl of the a, the detailed cupped serifs and the sense of grandeur of the Baroque era. Text weights run from Book to Extrabold with italics and swash capitals, and a Display cut tightens the proportions for headline use.
