Parry Grotesque specimen from Original Type

A sans-serif companion to the Parry family, drawing on Victorian grotesque quirks and recast for contemporary use across eight weights with matching italics.

About

Designed by Artur Schmal as the sans-serif counterpart to his Parry serif, this typeface takes its cues from the idiosyncratic grotesques of the nineteenth century while remaining clearly contemporary in execution. Sixteen styles span UltraThin through ExtraBlack with full italic coverage, and a condensed subfamily extends the range further. The family handles corporate identity, book typography, magazines and large-format advertising with equal ease.

Classification

Rooted in the quirky Victorian-era grotesques, Parry Grotesque is a sans-serif companion to the serif Parry family, with the irregular details and personality characteristic of nineteenth-century grotesque types redrawn for contemporary use.
