Horizon specimen from OTT Foundry

A condensed display slab drawing on wooden letterpress and French Clarendon traditions associated with Old West broadside printing and circus advertising.

About

Designed by Quentin Coulombier, Horizon synthesises archetypal sources from 19th and early 20th-century wooden type, including French Clarendon and Italian Clarendon forms with their characteristic reverse-contrast serifs. The family is pitched at large-format applications: poster work, signage, sports jerseys and editorial display. A broad Latin Extended character set supports over a hundred languages across Latin script.

Classification

A condensed display slab with reverse-contrast serifs, classifiable as Antique, Egyptian, French Clarendon or Italian Clarendon — all period terms for the same wooden type tradition rooted in 19th-century broadside printing.
