Hatton
Pangram Pangram Foundry · Mat Desjardins, Morgane Vantorre, with Two Times Elliott · 2020

Humanist display serif drawn from Hatton Garden signage, with nine weights, true italics and a luxurious feel.
About
A humanist serif by Mat Desjardins and Morgane Vantorre, originally drawn in collaboration with London studio Two Times Elliott as a homage to Hatton Garden, the city's diamond quarter. The drawing distils street signage, shop fronts and hand-rendered imperfections into a variable family of nine upright weights and matching true italics, totalling eighteen styles plus a variable cut. Refined proportions and adjusted contrast give the dark weights an engaging rhythm, and a sackful of new glyphs widens the typographic range.
Classification
Pangram tag it Humanist, Italics, Serif and Variable. A humanist serif inspired by the street signage and shopfronts of Hatton Garden in London, with hand-rendered imperfections and pearlescent contrast.
