Rooted in the pointed-nib copperplate tradition, Playground introduces unexpected tensions through exaggerated stroke contrast, square forms alongside flourishing curves, and acute cuts paired with round shoulders. The font is semi-connected by default, with full cursive connection available via contextual alternates, and two sets of capitals covering both italic and swash variations. Five weights span Thin to Medium, with lighter cuts suited to display sizes and heavier cuts holding up at smaller settings.
