PP Writer specimen from Pangram Pangram Foundry

A Renaissance-inspired serif by Fred Wiltshire and Mat Desjardins with Text, Display and Italic cuts, nine weights, Cyrillic support and 30 styles in total.

About

A French Renaissance serif with proportions, contrast and stress drawn from sixteenth-century type, organised into a Text cut for 6 to 14 point body, a Display cut that sharpens contrast and serifs for big sizes, and a lively Italic. Thirty styles in total with around 744 glyphs each, plus a Cyrillic that respects local tradition on letters like Tse and Sha rather than copying Latin shapes. A workhorse for print and editorial that still has a bit of ink-spill drama in the heavier weights.

Classification

Pangram lists it under Cyrillic, Display, Italics, Serif, Text and Variable. A French Renaissance inspired serif with three cuts, Text, Display and Italic, and Cyrillic support that follows Cyrillic rather than Latin tradition on letters such as Tse and Sha.
