Right Serif specimen from Pangram Pangram Foundry

A grotesk-derived serif with large x-height and unusual anatomy, spanning 8 sub-families across 7 weights and 7 widths with variable font support.

About

Grown directly from Right Gothic by adding serifs, this family inherits grotesk traits — large x-height, moderate contrast and broad width range — that distinguish it from historically rooted serif designs. Eight sub-families cover Tall, Tight, Narrow, Compact, Casual, Wide, Spatial and Italic cuts, each offering 7 styles plus a variable font, totalling 56 static styles. Styles near Regular are usable at text sizes, though the family is primarily suited to display and campaign work.

Classification

Originated as a sans-serif (Right Gothic) with serifs grafted on, inheriting large x-height, moderate contrast and grotesk proportions across 7 weights and 7 widths — placing it firmly in the grotesque-influenced serif territory rather than traditional historical models.
