Ready specimen from Plain Form

A nine-style display family by Lucas Descroix and Benjamin Dumond that applies reaction-diffusion algorithms to historical letterforms, pulling them to the edge of legibility.

About

Three subfamilies — Active, Bygone and Clouded — each available in Light, Regular and Bold, present the same underlying letter architecture warped to different degrees by generative organic processes. The result sits somewhere between conventional type and asemic writing, retaining just enough structural reference to remain identifiable as Latin. Released in 2022, it covers Extended Latin and includes a selection of emoji, borders and pattern glyphs alongside standard OpenType features.

Classification

Ready is an experimental display family that deliberately pushes letterforms toward abstraction via reaction-diffusion algorithms, producing three stylistically distinct subfamilies (Active, Bygone, Clouded) that blur the boundary between legible type and pure shape.
