A dual-optical sans family designed for sports contexts, named in tribute to Brazilian football player Marta Silva, with separate Text and Poster subfamilies each optimised for their intended scale.

About

Designed by Diego Maldonado at Plau, the family draws on classic typefaces from sports visual identity and splits into two distinct but related subfamilies. Amarta Text covers paragraph and mid-size use with weight and slant variable axes, while Amarta Poster targets large headlines with narrow counters and a width axis spanning Condensed, Narrow and Regular. Both families are available as static styles and as variable fonts, with OpenType features including built-in accents for blocked titles, vertical fractions and alternate characters.

Classification

A sans-serif with narrow counters and width variation in its Poster subfamily, drawing on classic sports typography vernacular with a disciplined, structured character suited to both editorial text and display headlines.
