Compasso specimen from Plau

A geometric sans by Rodrigo Saiani that spans nine weights and three widths, with optical refinements that soften its mathematical foundations into something more rhythmic.

About

Designed by Rodrigo Saiani at Plau, Compasso takes the geometric sans tradition of Futura and Avenir as its starting point, then adjusts and loosens those forms for practical use across brand identities, editorial systems, signage and digital interfaces. The family runs from Thin to Black across normal, Condensed and Extended widths, each with matching italics, and is also available as a variable font covering both weight and width axes. Alternate glyphs including a single-storey 'a', a barless 'G' and a double-storey italic 'g' give further stylistic control.

Classification

Compasso is explicitly rooted in the geometric sans tradition, drawing from Futura, Avenir and the Ludlow Tempo, with optical adjustments made throughout to soften the rigidity of pure geometry.
