Grecotipo specimen from Plau

A variable grotesque by Rodrigo Saiani and Carlos Mignot, designed for Greco, with three interpolation axes covering weight, italic and corner rounding.

About

Built as a commission for the studio Greco, Grecotipo comes in both static and variable formats, the latter spanning weight, slant and the degree of corner rounding across Text and Display optical sizes. At small sizes the design holds its functional restraint; at large sizes the rounded counters and vivid curves become the dominant characteristic. The family covers 32 static styles across eight weights with matching italics in both Text and Display cuts.

Classification

Described explicitly as a grotesque (grotesca) by the foundry, with rounded internal counters and a variable structure spanning weight, italic and corner-rounding axes.
