Manteiga
Plau · Rodrigo Saiani

A single-weight brush script by Rodrigo Saiani, designed for large-scale display use with deliberately hand-drawn inconsistencies and ultra-tight spacing.
About
Named after the Portuguese word for butter, Manteiga takes brush lettering as its starting point and pushes the letterforms as far as possible while maintaining legible positive-to-negative space balance. The intentionally short x-height and tight spacing give it a quirky, textured voice suited to headlines, packaging and logotypes rather than body text. OpenType features include alternate Q, a and g shapes, a creamy tilde variant, stylistic sets and a handful of dingbats including a cow and assorted hand symbols.
Classification
Manteiga is a brush lettering-derived script with deliberate hand-made inconsistencies, ultra-tight spacing and a short x-height, placing it firmly in the expressive brush script category.
