About
Designed by Álvaro Franca and Felipe Casaprima, the family began as a study of the carved letterforms found at the Municipal Stadium Paulo Machado de Carvalho, an Art Deco landmark inaugurated in 1940. Those European-origin letters took on a distinctly Brazilian character over decades of football culture, and that personality is carried through seven weights from Thin to Ultra, with a variable font also available. OpenType features include a one-storey 'a', a short J, proportional figures and an alternative question mark, making it well-suited to identities, posters, signage and editorial work.
Classification
A sans-serif rooted in the stone-cut lettering of a 1940 Art Deco stadium in São Paulo; the geometric, decorative character of those carved letters places it firmly in the Art Deco sans tradition.
