Realce
Plau · Carlos Mignot

An ultra-condensed grotesque display typeface by Carlos Mignot, built for high-density headlines and bold visual communication.
About
Designed by Carlos Mignot and released by Brazilian foundry Plau, Realce pairs an ultra-condensed, blocky structure with a generous x-height so that lowercase letters carry equal visual weight to uppercase. Low-profile diacritical marks enable tighter line spacing without sacrificing readability, while micro-rounded corners temper the otherwise hard-edged geometry. The family ships in six static weights from ExtraLight to Black, plus a variable font counterpart covering the same range.
Classification
Rooted in grotesque sans-serif traditions but ultra-condensed with a blocky, high-impact structure designed explicitly for display use; the extreme proportions and tall x-height place it firmly in the display category.
