Human Sans specimen from Positype

A humanist sans serif by Neil Summerour built across 80 styles and seven writing systems, spanning Thin to Ultra with narrow and condensed subfamilies.

About

Designed by Neil Summerour with collaborator Potch Auacherdkul, Human Sans is described by Positype as a typographic workhorse drawn and redrawn over several years from the roots of an earlier Positype design. Eighty styles span eight weights from Thin to Ultra, each with matching italics, and the family extends into Narrow and Condensed subfamilies for tighter measures. Script coverage is unusually broad, reaching Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Japanese, Khmer, Lao and Thai.

Classification

The foundry explicitly describes it as a humanist sans serif, and the letterforms shown across weights reflect the open, calligraphic warmth characteristic of that subcategory.
