OffBit specimen from Power Type

A bitmap-derived display family by Teguh Arief offering 17 stylistic variations, each replacing the standard pixel fill with shapes such as dots, rings, crosses and stars.

About

Designed by Teguh Arief and released in September 2022, OffBit constructs its letterforms on a pixel-grid logic drawn from bitmap typography, then replaces each unit with one of 17 interchangeable fill styles including rings, plus signs, stars and directional arrows. The 2.0 update expanded the family to 34 fonts across two weights, with coverage extending to Latin Extended and Cyrillic scripts across 92 languages. It is suited to retro-digital aesthetics, gaming-inspired posters and experimental graphic work where the individual style variants can be freely mixed.

Classification

OffBit is derived from bitmap typography, where letterforms are constructed from pixel-mapped arrays rendered as dots, rings, crosses and other geometric shapes. Its decorative, screen-referencing structure places it firmly in the display and experimental category.
