Iota Display specimen from Primary Foundry

A modular display typeface by Eun Jung Bahng, built from plus and multiplication signs to represent positive connections within groups and networks.

About

Each letterform is constructed from a system of plus and multiplication signs, translating the idea of connective relationships into a formal typographic structure. The family spans two subfamilies: Iota Display A includes italics across six weights from Light to Black, while Iota Display B offers the same six weights in upright cuts only, giving a total of 18 styles and 1,566 glyphs. Released under the Open Font Licence, it is free to use, modify and redistribute.

Classification

Constructed from plus and multiplication signs arranged into letterforms, making it a modular display typeface with a conceptual, geometric basis rather than a conventional typographic construction.
