Kessler
Production Type · Alaric Garnier · 2020

A high-contrast transitional serif by Alaric Garnier, spanning Display, Text and Mono subfamilies with a consistent system of diamond details and aristocratic letterforms.
About
Designed by Alaric Garnier and awarded a Type Directors Club Certificate of Excellence in 2020, Kessler is built around a coherent formal vocabulary: diamond-shaped tittles, hairline serifs, a spurred lowercase r and a looping italic g that carries rhythm across all sizes. The family divides into Display and Super Display for titling, a Text subfamily optimised for long-form reading from 8pt upwards, and a Mono cut that applies the same detail to a fixed-pitch structure. Japanese support extends the system via TP Mincho Fitfont from Type Project.
Classification
Kessler features diamond-shaped tittle details, hairline serifs, spurred lowercase r and aristocratic capital forms that point to a transitional serif structure with high contrast and formal elegance across Display, Text and Mono subfamilies.
