PVC
Production Type · Hélène Marian · 2018

A seven-style display family by Hélène Marian, each style drawn from a distinct lettering tradition — brush script, compressed grotesque, spiky serif and gestural sign-painting.
About
Designed by Hélène Marian and released in 2018, PVC takes shop signs, truck tarps, brush lettering and speed-gesture sign-painting as its starting points, producing six radically distinct styles under a single family name. PVC Dynasty introduces a spiky, space-filling serif with deliberate imbalance, while PVC Express preserves the looping gestures of fast sign-painting practice; PVC Banner and Banner Ultra push horizontal filling to extremes. Korean support is provided in collaboration with Sandoll, extending the family's reach into Hangul.
Classification
A deliberately eclectic display family rooted in lettering and sign-painting traditions, spanning brush scripts, compressed grotesques, spiky serifs and speed-gesture styles — too varied and expressive to sit under any single conventional category.
