About
Originally released as a weekly free-font project throughout 2016, the six styles that make up the Pyte Legacy Library have since been completely overhauled and expanded into a more considered collection. Each style — Epitome, Gyrator, Houdini, Plinth, Polymer and Vulture — channels a different flavour of Industrial Revolution-era type, moving between tribute and parody rather than historical accuracy. The series won a Visuelt 2017 Gold and was selected for Typographica's Typefaces of 2016.
Classification
Six distinctly eccentric display faces rooted in the stylistic diversity of 19th-century type, ranging from decorated to geometric to expressive forms; the foundry explicitly frames them as display weirdos drawing on Industrial Revolution-era typographic eccentricities.
