A layerable display typeface created for Museum Boijmans van Beuningen's identity, drawing on Lance Wyman's 1968 Mexico City Olympics lettering.

Designed in 2003 by Radim Pesko as part of an identity system developed with Mevis & Van Deursen, Boymans takes its formal cues from Lance Wyman's geometric Mexico City Olympics type. Ten weights each come in three line variants — single, double and triple — which can be combined, layered or coloured to produce an extensive range of graphic effects. The typeface is not available for licensing, remaining a bespoke commission for the Rotterdam museum.
Classification
Inspired by Lance Wyman's 1968 Mexico City Olympics lettering, Boymans uses a modular, geometric construction with layerable single, double, and triple line variants — firmly placing it in the display category with an op-art, experimental character.
