About
Designed between 2009 and 2012, Lÿno comprises four styles named Ulys(ses 31), Stan(ley Kubrick), Jean (Arp) and Walt (Disney), each negotiating the freedoms of digital type production through deliberately open and unstable letterforms. The project is explicitly anti-normative: the characters refuse resolution into a fixed typographic identity, making each style a distinct proposition rather than a weight variation. Used on Artforum headlines, it sits comfortably in avant-garde editorial and cultural publishing contexts.
Classification
Lÿno resists conventional classification by design; its four named styles propose playful, unstable typologies of form that reject normative letterform conventions, placing it firmly in experimental display territory.
