Septima specimen from Radim Pesko

A single-weight monospaced typeface with individually adjusted asymmetrical letterforms designed to maintain equal tone across the character set.

About

Each glyph in Septima is individually tuned to the space it occupies within its fixed-width window, a process Peško uses to balance visual tone and produce distinctive, recognisable forms. Available in one weight, the family supports twenty-three Latin and five Cyrillic languages, with the Cyrillic extension developed in collaboration with Roman Gornitsky. The typeface has seen editorial use at BBC News, where its idiosyncratic forms read well at headline scale.

Classification

Septima is explicitly described as a monospaced font with asymmetrical, individually adjusted letterforms, placing it firmly in the mono category with a grotesque character.
