Adapter Tamil specimen from Rosetta

A Tamil companion to the Adapter family, designed by Aadarsh Rajan for text-setting with generous spacing, ink-traps and a modernist graphic sensibility.

About

Designed by Tamil type specialist Aadarsh Rajan, Adapter Tamil brings the neo-grotesque character of the broader Adapter World collection to the Tamil script. Eight weights from Extralight to Black are available both as static fonts and as a single variable font, with generous spacing to counter the script's inherent rhythmic density and carefully placed ink-traps to handle its complex, intersecting strokes. Closed apertures give it a strong graphic presence, while subtle humanist details keep it comfortable at text sizes.

Classification

Adapter Tamil is the Tamil counterpart to the Adapter neo-grotesque family, sharing its modernist, closed-aperture, minimalist construction while incorporating humanist adjustments specific to the Tamil script.
