About
Developed as the Latin counterpart to Aisha Arabic, the design direction here ran from the Arabic to the Roman rather than the usual reverse, with Nemeth drawing on 19th-century French-cut Arabic foundry type as a starting point. The five weights from Regular to Extrabold are available as a variable font, and the family is packed with contextual alternates, stylistic sets, swash variants with variable-length control, and a full complement of figures and fractions. The result is a typeface with genuine personality that works across display headings, editorial layouts and long-form text alike.

Aisha Latin is rooted in the free, dynamic curves of brush-pen calligraphy from the Maghreb tradition, giving it a calligraphic serif character with expressive, informal letterforms that sit between text and display use.
