Avory PE specimen from Rosetta

A gently condensed humanist sans inspired by the mid-century Czech lettering of Jaroslav Benda, with a low optical centre, wide horizontal crossbars and alternating open or closed counters.

About

Tall proportions with broad shoulders make it distinctive at a distance, while an array of alternate forms gives designers control over descenders and counter openness. The family spans nine weights with matching italics and variable font versions for both uprights and italics, covering Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts with localised forms for cultural appropriateness. An underscore feature adds a vintage lettering feel suited to labels and shop signage.

Classification

Gently condensed with lettering-inspired details, a low optical centre, wide horizontal crossbars, and expressive terminals rooted in mid-century Czech graphic lettering tradition, placing it firmly in the humanist sans subcategory.
