Moderne Olive
Rosetta · David Březina · 2026

A reverse-contrast sans by David Březina that reworks the Antique Olive tradition through squarish geometry and high-tension pinched strokes.
About
Derived from Rosetta's experimental Only Yours project, the family spans seven weights from Light to Black with a variable font axis covering the full range. Its reverse-contrast approach updates Roger Excoffon's Antique Olive lineage with regularised, simplified forms and tightly pinched junctions that prevent stroke collisions at heavier weights. An unusually rich feature set includes circled numerals in four styles, combinable multilingual pictograms activatable in French, Italian, English, Spanish and Czech, and extended Latin coverage across 330 languages.
Classification
Moderne Olive is a reverse-contrast sans-serif drawing on the tradition of Antique Olive by Roger Excoffon, distinguished by squarish forms and pinched high-tension strokes at junctions rather than conventional stroke modulation.
